MODERN LOVE ANIMATION
Motion Graphics
This project was part of a class focused on exploring how to express visuals in a metaphorical way.
The aim was to study and develop methods of using visual elements to convey deeper,
symbolic meanings, rather than just presenting straightforward or literal representations.
The idea was developed to create a looping animation based on an article from
The New York Times, using it as a foundation to metaphorically depict the process of falling in love.
The article, titled "To Fall in Love With Anyone, Do This" explores the idea that love is not merely a spark of chemical attraction but an intentional connection nurtured through shared vulnerability.
At the heart of the story lies an experiment where two strangers gaze into each other's eyes and ask 34 deeply personal questions. As they exchange these questions, barriers dissolve, and a sense of intimacy begins
to form love, not as a fleeting emotion, but as something deliberately constructed.
Inspired by this tender process, the animation reimagines their interaction as two people assembling
a puzzle together, each question and each glance fitting like a piece in a larger picture.
The visual metaphor speaks to the idea that love is an intricate tapestry, woven slowly and intentionally,
with each shared moment adding depth and dimension.
